Hours Transfer Policy
Clinician’s Incubator recognizes the value of prior learning experiences and offers a credit transfer policy to eligible candidates. The following policy outlines the acceptable forms of transfer credit and the process for evaluating and granting advanced standing:
Eligibility for Transfer Credit:
Candidates seeking transfer credit must meet the following criteria:
The candidate must be enrolled in the CNS Supervised Practice Experience (SPE) program.
The candidate must provide documentation of prior learning experiences for which transfer credit is requested.
The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the competencies and skills covered by the transfer credit coursework or experience.
Acceptable Forms of Transfer Credit:
Credit earned through an external program with which Clinician’s Incubator’s Supervised Practice Experience (SPE) program has an articulation agreement.
Credit earned from an ACNPE-accredited degree program or an ACNPE-accredited SPE program.
Credit earned from a clinical master's or doctoral degree program offered by an accredited institution.
Credit earned from any other supervised practice program, provided it does not exceed 250 hours.
Evaluation Process:
Applicants will pay an evaluation fee for Clinician’s Incubator to review the hours they have obtained through an individual supervisor or other program that are not a) an ACNPE–accredited program, b) a regionally-accredited university or c) an individual supervisor or organization with whom an articulation agreement is active.
The Program Director or designated supervisor will review the candidate's request for transfer credit; this is completed prior to enrollment.
The Candidate will produce a completed hours tracking providing detailed description of activity and confirmation that the supervisor/program is/was approved by BCNS
The evaluation will consider the quality and comparability of the learning experience, as well as the documentation of activity and proficiency provided by the candidate and their supervisor (when applicable).
For transfer credit earned from external programs, the Program Director will assess the alignment of coursework or experience with the competencies and objectives of the Clinician’s Incubator Supervised Practice Experience (SPE) program.
For transfer credit earned from ACNPE-accredited programs or clinical degree programs, the Program Director will verify accreditation status.
For transfer credit earned from other supervised practice programs, the Program Director will ensure compliance with the 250-hour limit, or hourly limit per articulation agreement, and evaluate the appropriateness of the learning experience.
Granting of Transfer Credit Hours:
Upon completion of the evaluation process, the Program Director will determine the amount of transfer credit hours to be granted and notify the candidate accordingly.
Candidates granted transfer credit hours may be exempt from specific components of the CNS Supervised Practice Experience (SPE) program curriculum, as determined by the Program Director.
Transfer credit hours will be recorded and may contribute to fulfilling program requirements for eligibility for certification as a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS).
Appeals Process:
Candidates who disagree with the decision regarding transfer credit may submit an appeal to the Program Director within a specified timeframe.
The Program Director will review the appeal and may consult with relevant individuals as needed to make a final determination.
This credit transfer policy is designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and academic rigor in the evaluation and granting of transfer credit hours for prior learning experiences within the CNS Supervised Practice Experience (SPE) program.
